Abstract

The study investigated relationship between work engagement and patient safety culture in a private clinical laboratory service at San Miguel district, Lima. Methodology, a quantitative, descriptive-correlational study was applied, with 02 validated questionnaires on 33 participants. The results demonstrated a moderate positive correlation between both variables (Rho=0.676, p<0.001), indicating that work engagement has a significant impact on patient safety. Interpersonal relationships and open communication (Rho=0.713), professional development and continuous learning (Rho=0.453), as well as job satisfaction and commitment to quality (Rho=0.400) also showed significant positive correlations. It is concluded that there is a significant relationship between work engagement and patient safety culture, highlighting the need for policies that promote professional development, effective communication, and staff well-being.
