This research is entitled: Metacognitive strategies and the english language learning of the students at the Universidad del Pacifico Language Center - Lima 2021. It is an investigation that seeks to enrich theoretical scientific knowledge in the use of strategies of students in learning the English language. It corresponds to the descriptive level and assumes the correlational design. The main objective of this research is to determine the relationship between metacognitive strategies and the English language learning of the students at the Universidad del Pacifico Language Center. The sample consisted of 40 students at communication level 12 (Upper intermediate level - B2). The techniques applied were the documentary analysis and the survey. The instruments applied were the English test and the questionnaire. To measure metacognitive strategies, the inventory of metacognitive strategies was applied, with a total of 20 questions which measures two dimensions: metacognitive self-knowledge strategies and metacognitive self-regulation strategies. The instrument is valid and reliable. The Cronbach's alpha of the instrument was 0.871. The results show that between the variables Metacognitive strategies and English language learning there is a Rho Spearman correlation coefficient of rs = 0.654. That is, a good level of application of cognitive strategies will give a good level of learning the English language; an incorrect level of use of cognitive strategies corresponds to a deficient level of learning in the English language of the students of the language center of the University.
